LEARN TO THERMAL VIDEO'S

Learning how to thermal is always a tricky one to master at an early stage in your flying. Ideally you need no one else in the thermal. This way you can focus upon the task in hand. Rarely would a pilot be on site and booked in for tuition on a predicted day ahead. Every thermal has its very own set of rules, which change as the thermal travels across the ground below during its release. Referring to site assessment being an important part of your research.

Site Assessment starts at home well in advance of your day ahead. Starting with monitoring the weather. I generally just use a barometer and online synoptic chart. Measure day and night tempertures.
